If DSIM Failed on Window 10/11! How to Fix it with McAfee?

DISM command is used for Window Images and Window Recovery Environment. But user sometimes faces DSIM failed on Window 10, and to fix this issue, you should switch to McAfee antivirus via www.mcafee.com/activate. In this blog, you will read the method to fix DSIM failed on Window 10/11.

Method To Fix DSIM Failed on Window 10/11:

1. Install your McAfee Antivirus:

Sometimes, this error is caused to due to antivirus. Because, antivirus interfere with your computer and leads to this problem. You can fix this issue by disabling your antivirus features. In case, this does not fix the issue, then you should remove your antivirus. After removing your antivirus, you should again do DISM scan.

If this solves your problem, then you should switch to McAfee antivirus software via www.mcafee.com/activate as it safeguards your system from errors.

2. Enter Correct Location of Install.wim file:

If you are facing DISM issue, then you should mount Windows 10 ISO file and enter the location of the Install.wim file. For this, you should enter the command in Command Prompt and then tap on Enter key to run it:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:SourcesInstall.wim:1 /LimitAccess

Here, you should replace X with the letter which matches the drive where you find Windows 10 ISO file is mounted.

3. Copy Install.wim to your Hard Drive:

To fix this issue, you should copy the Install.wim to the root directory of your hard drive. To Install.wim file, you should download Windows 10 ISO, then mount it and after that, locate Install.wim file. When you copy the Install.wim file, you should the enter the correct location of the Install.wim file before you run the DISM scan.

4. Clean up System Image Components:

For this, you should open Command Prompt as administrator. If Command Prompt opens, then you should enter the command and then hit on Enter key:

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

Now, wait for the procedure to end. The user can also run the below commands:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore

When you run these commands, you should again perform DISM scan. Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase

5.  Run Windows Update Troubleshooter:

To run troubleshooter, you should tap on Windows Key + I together to open the Settings app. After this, visit to the System & Security section. Now, you should select Troubleshoot option from the menu which is on the left. Then in the right side, you need to choose Windows Update and then tap on Run the troubleshooter. Lastly, you should follow the steps on the screen to finish the troubleshooter.

6. Reset Windows Update Services:

To reset, you should open Command Prompt as an administrator. If Command Prompt begins, then you should run the below commands:

net stop wuauserv

cd %systemroot%SoftwareDistribution

ren Download Download.old

net start wuauserv

net stop bits

net start bits

net stop cryptsvc

cd %systemroot%system32

ren catroot2 catroot2old

net start cryptsvc

When the commands are executed, then you should restart Windows Update components and it will fix the issue.

7. Disable Proxy:

The user should open the Settings app and then go to Network & Internet section. After this, choose Proxy from the menu which is on the left. At last, in the right side you should disable all settings.

In order to install McAfee Antivirus, the user should install McAfee via www.mcafee.com/activate.
